Solutions for Index Manager
Index Manager and FotoStation Pro
FotoStation Pro may access the index directly. Simply browse the folder
containing the index, and the rest is automatic. FotoStation Pro used in the
combination with Index Manager gives the search operator an enhanced set of
truly powerful searching.
You may add searchable text to the indexed files using FotoStation Pro as a client.
Offline archiving
In offline archiving Index Manager will store a low resolution thumbnail of the
files on the server hard drive, and add the caption to the index. FotoStation
clients will then be able to see all the files in the archive, even if they are
not physically accessible. If the user requests the high-resolution file,
FotoStation will ask the user to insert the correct disk or point to the
location where the file exists.
The offline archive can be maintained on the server or through FotoStation Pro
on a client computer – there is no need to access the server to add or remove
media.
Index Manager and Color Factory
Color Factory can use a FotoWare Index Manager archive as input. This way,
Color Factory can search for files that match a custom criterion, and process
the files found according to channel settings. The processed files can be saved
to a new destination or replace the old files. A custom text template can also
be applied to avoid the same file being processed over again. Channels can run
as hot folders, immediately processing files that appear in the input folder,
or be scheduled to run at intervals or at specified times.
Using FotoWare Index Manager, Color Factory is able to check for duplicates in
the archive. Duplicates can be handled as new versions or be routed to a
different folder.
Index Manager and FotoWeb
Publish your images easily on the web, or manage the archive through a standard
web browser! With the addition of FotoWeb (purchased separately), your files
are instantly available for search and retrieval over any intranet or the
Internet. All image-formats will be converted to browser-supported gif or jpeg
on the fly, and thumbnails may be created from movie files and other formats -
there is no need to manually prepare the files for web-publishing. FotoWeb
allows both anonymous and registered users, and it is possible to define
different access rights for individual users.
FotoWeb may access the index directly. Simply browse the folder containing the
index, and the rest is automatic. FotoWeb used in the combination with Index
Manager gives the search operator an enhanced set of truly powerful searching.
